Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide Quality Engineering support for Operations to ensure that the Quality System requirements are adhered to for medical device manufacturing/operations in accordance with applicable Regulatory and Standards requirements for compliance. Provide work direction for 1-3 Technicians/Inspectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to company Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support regulatory and agency inspections, audits, investigations, and inquiries regarding the control and assessment of product design and manufacturing quality.
  • Monitor manufacturing of assigned products, assuring compliance with DMR while providing deviation/waiver guidance and assuring complete and correct Device History Records are maintained.
  • Review the adequacy and correctness of changes to Bill of Materials (BOM’s), Assembly Procedures, Drawings, Component Specification, FMEAs, Control Plans, etc.
  • Lead generation and completion of protocols and reports for test method validations.
  • Interfaces with Manufacturing Engineers to review processes for new and existing products and coordinate process validations and capability studies. Recommends process monitoring devices where applicable.
  • Develops various inspection techniques and procedures to ensure product integrity to design specifications. Responsible for the writing, approval, and implementation of Incoming, In-Process and Final Inspection procedures.
  • Ensure that the disposition of non-conforming materials meet all necessary regulatory requirements and assure adequacy of corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Lead and manage complaint investigations.
  • Participate in plant CAPA activities, including analysis of data and trends in complaints, supplier quality, nonconforming material, training effectiveness, and root causes analysis.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist with product transfers.
  • Works with suppliers, management, Engineers and Manufacturing associates in the resolution of quality problems. Also, assists each of these groups with capability studies and the application of statistical quality control which include Cpk, DOE, Hypotheses Testing, etc.
  • Mentor and support quality inspectors and technicians.
  • Performs other functions as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum Experience: 2-5 years quality engineering experience, preferably in medical device or regulated manufacturing
  • Specialized Knowledge: Competence in the selection and use of Quality Engineering Tools and Techniques. Good knowledge in the interpretation and application of relevant Domestic and International Regulations and Industry Standards (e.g. ISO, QSR, UL, MDD, TGA etc.) Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab
  • Special Skills: Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to effectively communicate written and verbally. Ability to manage time effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Position Summary:

Schedules, orders, and coordinates the delivery of parts/materials, equipment, and services used in product manufacturing according to production plans. Controls the inventory of assigned production parts/materials in accordance with management objectives.  Expedites requirements as needed (e.g., order action, shortage/pre-shortage, late order reports).  Establishes standard cost on assigned production parts/materials for approval by management.  Assist in the selection of particular vendors/suppliers with whom to place orders and acts as a primary contact with vendors/suppliers. Resolves problems with assigned production parts/materials, equipment or supplier orders.  As a cross-functional team member represents supply base and takes actions necessary to support quoting, production, cost savings initiatives, quality/complaint investigations and other supply chain related activities.

Mechanical Designer

  • Must be able to build a detailed plan and boil it down to a high level of communication to different levels.
  • Experience with full product lifecycle into a commercial release, experience with FDA and ISO regulations.

Product Support Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitate and escalate resolution of major service problems that have not been resolved through normal channels. Make customer visits as required.  Provide guidance and authorization for warranty repairs and field modifications up to 4K. Provide warranty policy authorization up to 2K.  Deliver training to Field Service Engineers regarding product and process enhancements.
  • Assist Sr. Product Support Engineers in root cause analysis of trending failures in conjunction with the appropriate design development center, manufacturing facility, and/or supplier quality group to reduce warranty exposure and implement product improvements.
  • Recommend to engineering, vendors, and manufacturing plants, product changes required to improve product performance, reliability and serviceability and the reduction of warranty costs. Provide technical and statistical reports to define the costs and customer dissatisfaction levels related to product deficiencies.
  •  Provide assistance to Engineering and Manufacturing in the selection of field test sites for testing improved components. Create and release Service Grams & Bulletins to the dealer network. Review and update flat rate service times for existing products as necessary.  Supervise field modification development for release to the dealers and customers, including Field Product Improvement programs.

Requirements:

  • BS (Electrical, Computer, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering)
  •  4-6 years relevant experience in fuel cell design, development, and/or troubleshooting

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the profitability of machine design/build projects in a custom machinery environment. Responsible to understand all issues potentially affecting your project such as mechanical design, controls design, pneumatics, hydraulics, financial budgets, labor charges, parts shortages, supplier deliveries, etc.   Responsible to continually assess the impact of these issues to your project and facilitate corrective action to maintain project budget and delivery schedule integrity. Provide single point communication and primary liaison role between the customer and Company once the project is kicked off at Company as a valid project.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A four (4) year technical degree (BSME) or equivalent is required to be considered for this position. Five to ten years direct machine design build and implementation experience will also be considered. Other technical degrees (BSEE, BSEET, etc.) will be considered as it relates to your direct aptitude and experience with mechanical design and tooling design concepts for factory floor automation and production equipment.

  • Two (2) to five (5) years direct manufacturing engineering and/or machine design, build, implementation and start-up automation experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with welding equipment, packaging equipment and/or high speed assembly equipment or systems is desirable. Three (3) to five (5) years experience with welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, PAW, etc.), Laser welding/cutting, Plasma cutting or product assembly processes is a plus.
  • Direct experience working with customers and suppliers is required.
  • Negotiation of contract issues, delivery requirements, and price are important to this position. A successful candidate should have this experience. Proficiency is desirable.
  • Proven success managing, facilitating or controlling a group of people or large project to a timeline and schedule is required.
  • Ability to work in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project is a must.
  • Knowledge with SolidWorks/CAD is beneficial.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Operational

    • Monitor the assembly progress associated with the project.   Assess the labor assignment levels and the overall ability of our organization to complete these activities on time relative to your project schedule.
    • Field customer requests and determine if they are within or outside of the project scope. If the request is outside of the scope, write, price, and submit a project change notice.

The Principal Safety Embedded Engineer will be leading the efforts to design and develop a state-of-the-art safety system within our automation solution.  This role lives within our Bot Controls team, and plays a critical role in delivering a robust safety system that allows our system to run safely and efficiently.

What you will be doing:

  • Design and develop software strategies for an embedded safety system onboard a high-speed mobile robotic platform.
  • Implement object oriented software using up-to-date programming methodologies.
  • Understand, document and maintain existing code (C/C++). 
  • Support system testing of components and subsystems.
  • Troubleshoot system problems in production or design by investigating issues related to product performance or production difficulties, primarily through log analysis.
  • Evaluate and process engineering change requests.
