Description:

We provide world-class design, manufacturing, and logistics services for the medical disposables, medical equipment/device/instrumentation and consumer health and drug delivery markets with a commitment to quality in everything we do.

We are currently seeking a Medical Device Designer for several locations in the United States.

 
PURPOSE: 
Plan, design and develop new disposable medical products and components.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop product designs and prototype from customer concepts and/or specs
  • Support documentation and prototype fabrication of designed products
  • Conceive plans and conducts research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity.
  • Contribute inventions, new designs or techniques of material significance in the solution of problems.
  • Use project management tools to manage project timelines.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure delivery of essential materials and components.
  • Coordinate procedures, timeframes, and in process testing with manufacturing sites.
  • Develop component specific testing and inspection protocols.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers as primary communications channel
  • Review patent application claims of new designs.
  • Lead and/or participate in design and review meetings.
  • Maintain design and drawing history files.
  • Manage project documentation and designs.
  • Assist in developing quotations and identifying vendors.

 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical or Biomechanical)
  • 4+ years of related experience in disposable medical device design preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in taking a medical device from concept to manufacturing required
  • Proficient in Solidworks and/or Pro-E is desired
  • Project leadership experience a plus
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex medical disposable design and development programs
  • Project Management Experience
  • Plastic part design knowledge experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, problem solving and interpersonal skills are necessary

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree  
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Project, Excel and Work; knowledge of Quality Systems Regulations (QSR), GMP, and ISO Regulations.

Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Permanent position)
Description:

Permanent Positions -- Multiple Mechanical Design Engineers to assist the client’s R&D group.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid 3-D modeling skills (Pro-Engineer ~ Wildfire 2 or better is highly preferred)

    Recent experience working in the medical device industry 

    Experience working on bio-medical applications and/or laparoscopic instrumentation is also desired

  • Degree Required
