| Description: |
Senior Firmware Expert needed to provide technical leadership in electronic firmware/software design from concept through design, implementation and unit testing. Job Duties Include:
- Integrating new features with existing ones in the context of a larger system
- Troubleshooting and resolution of real time embedded software issues is Specify, design, code, and test software for the product
- Develop automated and manual test tools for embedded software/firmware 8/16/32 micro controllers for mixed signal embedded instruments
- Support design of instrument user interface and develop simulation tools as required
- Develop software algorithms and data structures as required
This is a contract assignment expected to last 6-12 months with the possibility of going permanent.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years of RTOS (Real Time Operating System) Development Experience (Commercial or proprietary, but commercial is preferred; such as CMX, VXWorks, VRTX, PSOS, etc.)
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in embedded C programming for real time embedded systems on commercial products ~ he wants C instead of C++, because they are writing code in “small spaces” such as 64K of RAM
- Knowledge of & developing protocols to communicate between multiple processors as well as PC’s and embedded systems. SPI, I2C and RS232 are a must
- Conversant in microprocessor hardware and able to read & understand schematics and component specifications to design and code hardware drivers
- Experienced in writing test plans, test scenarios, regression testing and using automated and manual test processes for embedded software products
- The following skills are PLUSSES: Familiarity with ARM7 and Microchip PIC processors; Knowledge of IAR tool suite and CMX RTOS highly desirable; Knowledge of protocols to communicate between multiple processors as well as PC’s and embedded
- US Citizenship or Green Card preferred
- Degree Required (BSCS or BSEE)
