Description:

These Design Engineer positions involve both research and development functions in electromechanical actuation and fluid valve design. This person will direct or perform design and development work for new or improved products which meet performance and cost objectives. They also will be responsible for the coordination with drafting to insure that the design is adequately documented. In addition, they will interface with manufacturing, production control, testing engineering, vendors and customers.

Responsibilities include engineering design and analysis, development testing, prototype assembly and testing, material review, failure analysis, progress reporting, design and program reviews, vendor and customer visits, and proposal preparation

 

Will work on a variety of products and product lines such as: fluid control valves, space systems, defense control systems, launch vehicles, tactical missiles, naval systems, sensors and surveillance

Required Skills:

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (MS Degree preferred) plus 6 years of design/development engineering experience or equivalent.

 

Successful candidates will have proven experience in a “clean sheet” environment, be technically sound, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, have the ability to work positively in a team environment.

 

Due to U.S. Government and Military contracts candidates must be either a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

Mechanical Design
Description:

Mechanical Designer

  • With direction from Product Engineer, creates and modifies parts models and detailed drawings of components and assemblies.
  • Designs and develops future product concepts.
  • Creates and modifies models and production prints per SPA/SSC standards and customer requirements.
  • Design for manufacturability suitable to part production process (die casting, injection modeling, powdered metal, etc.)
  • Works concurrently with tool design group and/or purchase part vendors as required during part design process to insure manufacturability.
  • Performs tolerance stackups as required.
  • Prior experience with Latch Design is ideal

 

Qualifications:

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
  • Able to interact with Engineering, Sales and Program Business Managers
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Unigraphics NX (they are using NX5)
  • Big plus = WindChill experience
  • Must be able to conceptualize, plan and design mechanical devices.
  • Able to create engineering prints.
  • Ability to multi-task, plan and organize required.
  • Experience with DFMEA and GD&T standards preferred.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 10-15 Years experience in CAD design
  • Experience designing mechanisms
  • Must have very strong working knowledge of UG
  • Experience with Windchill UG WGM preferred

Title:

Design Engineer

Description:

This position will be participating in product design projects from start to finish (concept to production) including conceptual design, drafting, testing, etc.  They will be using SolidWorks 2009/2010 for modeling and they will be working with injection molding, metals, and plastics.  Projects and workload will be delegated by the Project Manager.  Candidates need to have at least 5 to 8 years of mechanical design engineering experience with medical devices, design experience with relevant materials, and be proficient with SolidWorks 2009/2010.  A BS Engineering degree and related product design experience are huge plusses.
